A PNW Summer
Hello Everyone! It is now officially Fall, I hope wherever you are you will get to enjoy the changing of the season. I am really excited to spend my first fall here in the Northeast, I can’t wait for all the leaves to change. As fall is here and the seasons change it is nice to reflect on all that’s happened. This summer I got to spend it up in the PNW. I took full advantage of being up there, specially since I didn’t know if I was going to get another chance to spend another summer up there.
As always I wished I had more time up there specially in the Olympic National Park, I only got to see one tiny section of the park! What I did see was breathtaking, from the purest blue of the waters of Crater Lake to massiveness of Mt Rainer, and the draw of the trees that stretched to the sky in Olympic.
I first went to Olympic National Forest where I spent a day and half in a remote camp ground. I originally planned to just drive into Olympic NP but I realized right before I left that it would be about a four hour drive to get into the the park, and six hours to get up to the main visitor center. I spent most of my time in the Olympic National Forest and on my last day I drove up to one part of olympic and spent the afternoon there. I had a show in Gig Harbor that weekend but after the show, I drove to MT Rainer NP where I spent three days there. MT Rainer was my favorite out of the summer and possibly this year. I was swept away from all the views of the mountain. I spent a lot of time hiking and soaking up as much as I could. The wildflowers there were in peak bloom which made everything more majestic. From Rainer I drove out to Richland WA where I had another show. After that show I came back to Corvallis where I got a few days of recovery. My brother, sister-in-law, their pups, and I all went out to Crater Lake for the weekend. We spent one full day in the park and the next day around the area. After we came back I had a few days to pack and do laundry before I began my 3000 mile journey to CT.
Looking back on this summer I can’t help but feel so grateful of all that I have experienced and seen this year. I’ve decided that I want to make some type a photo essay of my travels. I will be working on it through the end of the year and into 2020. I’ll be sharing more as it progress. As for now I have a couple thousand photos to edit :O
I will be back soon with a blog post about a new inspiration and artist!
