Spring Recap!
Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the lovely days. I am getting ready for the summer season of shows and exhibits, but I wanted to share some pretty exciting opportunities I done over the last month. May kicked off the start of my shows for the year. I did a couple local shows and two shows in CT.
In February I applied for a mural proposal in Wayland to paint a utility box. I have never painted any like it, but the theme was the “Sudbury River,” and I thought I could highlight the beauty of that while bringing my printmaking style on full public display. In mid April I heard back and I was one of two artists chosen to paint a utility box! After getting supplies ready I was able to paint my box over two days in early May! It turned out really well, and I am very happy to have had the opportunity to have my art so accessible to the public. If you are in they area the utility box is located on the intersection of Main St. and Plain St. in Wayland. It is right by Fire station number 2 and across the street from CVS.
Throughout this year I have been exploring a new technique of printmaking called mono printing. Now there are many ways to make a mono print, but the way I am doing the prints is simply painting ink on a Plexiglas plate and running it through the press. It’s called a mono print because this technique only produces one print. Here is my collection of prints! They are all for sale in my Shop.
That’s all for now! I have a good amount of shows lined up through the end of June until July. I am also working on my biggest block print ever! Stay tuned to see how that will turn out. Enjoy your summer and if you are in MA or CT come see me at one of my shows!
Bryan.
